Examples of dental emergencies include:

  • Tooth or gum pain that lingers or is constant and is not controlled with over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication (e.g. Ibuprofen)

  • Swelling in the mouth, face, or neck

  • A broken tooth which is causing pain

  • A tooth has been knocked out or has become suddenly loose

Go to Urgent Care or a Hospital if:

  • You have neck or facial swelling that is preventing you from breathing properly

  • You have bleeding that will not stop

  • You have become feverish because of an infection in your mouth
