As of January 1st, 2026, our practice will be moving from the Delta Dental PPO network to the Premier network.
You can find your specific coverage amounts by logging into the Delta Dental website and reviewing your policy information.
For patients with Delta Dental Premier insurance:
You will experience no changes with our practice
Your policy will pay at the listed Coverage %
For patients with Delta Dental PPO insurance:
YOU CAN STILL COME TO OUR PRACTICE
Your policy will pay at the listed Coverage % of the PPO fee
You pay the difference between the PPO Fee and the Premier Fee
How much is that? We don’t know yet! Delta says the Premier fee schedule is “Unlisted” so they won’t actually tell us what their fees are!
Once we’ve cleared a few claims with Delta Premier (by February 2026), we will be able to more accurately estimate the difference between the networks’ fees.
Delta Dental PPO to Premier Upgrade Cost Examples
These are just examples and are not exact!
If you have PPO with 100% coverage for Preventative (exams, x-rays, basic cleanings):
Your PPO plan will pay 100% of the PPO network fee and you will be due the difference between the PPO and Premier fees.
As an Estimate, we expect the difference for an existing patient returning for an exam, xrays and prophylactic cleaning to be about a $35 additional copay if you have 100% coverage for Preventative. We will be able to more accurately estimate this amount soon!
If you have PPO with 80% coverage for Preventative (exam, x-rays, basic cleanings):
Your PPO plan will pay 80% of the PPO network fee, you will pay 20% of the PPO network fee (same as if you saw a PPO provider), and then you will be due the difference between the PPO and Premier fees (this is the additional fee to see Premier provider).
Additional example for another random dental service using fake numbers:
If you have a PPO Plan with 80% coverage (20% copay) for a Service:
Example Fake Service: PPO Fee ($185), Premier Fee ($234)
(PPO Fee x Copay %) + (difference between Premier Fee and PPO Fee)
(185 x .20) + (234 – 185) = $86 estimated copay
Explained: Your PPO plan will pay 80% of the PPO network fee, you will be due the 20% copay of the PPO network fee plus the difference between the PPO fee and the Premier Fee.
